Tsunami 'ROCK' Japan

Yuhuu as we know Japan just Got Rock.
The largest earthquake in the history of Japan, 8.9 on the Richter scale, has rocked the country's eastern coast creating a powerful tsunami. The death toll so far is in the hundreds, with Japanese Police confirming 200 to 300 bodies have been found in Sendai City, a northeastern coastal area. After the massive tremor, a seven-metre tsunami swept over the nation followed by several aftershocks, many measuring over 6.0.

Dozens of cities and villages along a 2,100 km stretch could feel the violent tremors, with people as far away as Tokyo affected. Japanese officials have issued an evacuation order to thousands of residents near a nuclear power plant. In the meantime, tsunami warnings have been issued for several countries as far away as South America, Canada, Alaska and the entire United States coastline.

The Canadian Red Cross says they are monitoring the situation closely and standing by to assist with emergency supplies and personnel if needed. They are also encouraging Canadians to donate to relief efforts by logging onto www.redcross.ca/helpnow . Officials say the death toll in Japan is likely to keep climbing. A 4.5 earthquake also struck Hawaii.
